Dow Pierce

Born Febuary 22, 1947 in Emory Virginia, Washington Vounty to Mildred and Henry Pierce. Dad was fresh back from Europe WW2.

When I was born the Snow was so deap they couldnt get my mother out to the Dr.Office. 

Dr. Hillman (County Dr) came to the house on a horse to bring the baby (ME) into the world. Dad had got his Amateur Radio License (W4YQW) and when the Ole Dr. Smacked me on my Butt and when I got my first breath the first thing I heard was my father on a surprus ARC 5 Transmitter and a S38 Reciver sending Morse code one the 40 meter Amateur radio band. Dad became a SK (Passed) in 1972. He had worked for AEP from 1946 till 1972
